A contract confectioner received a new request: to produce an item that required precisely placing cookies and moulded chocolate together, with both elements clearly visible. This specific process, often called Moulding Cookies in Chocolate, was something their existing moulding line could not handle. Furthermore, attempting to assemble the product by hand would prove to be both too time-consuming and too expensive.
Graybill extended the customer’s moulding line with a special cookie dropper section so that cookies could be placed into the chocolate mould as part of the moulding process. Two cookie placers, each placing two rows, were used to fill the four-row moulds. In addition, the placers were designed so the size-specific part lifts off to change over to a second cookie shape. Graybill had extensive prior experience placing cookies and cookie pieces that are entirely enclosed in moulded chocolate at high production rates.
